英語で形容詞を並べる順番のお話。これは昔、文法を勉強しているときに覚えた記憶がある、もうほとんど忘れてるけど。ちなみに当時使っていたのは English EX という本でかなりの良書です。

意見 → 大きさ → 古さ → 形 → 色 → 起源 → 材料 → 目的 + 名詞

Adjectives in English absolutely have to be in this order: opinion-size-age-shape-colour-origin-material-purpose Noun.

So you can have a lovely little old rectagular green French silver whittling knife. But if you mess with that word order in the slightest you'll sound like a maniac.
