今週はチューディさんの、コロナウイルス対策で作られた「手洗いの歌」の歌詞にある Let's の使い方の話が面白かった。

One of the lines in the song is, "Let's wash your hands." I'm sure you know that you use "let's" for a suggestion or an offer to do something together.

Are those singers going to come to my house and help me wash my hands? I don't think so. They need to change the line to "Let's wash our hands." Fine. We'll all do that together.
